Saturdays – Hackney Homemade FOOD

A vibrant new food experience for Hackney. Every Saturday 11am – 4pm

Hackney Homemade’s latest venture sees a food & drink market take residence in the glorious grounds of Grade II listed St John’s church, opposite Hackney Central station.

Indulge in street food inspired by Europe, Asia and the Americas whilst shopping for local produce, artisan cheeses, lovingly baked breads and handmade cakes.

Don’t just pass through, take a breather in our pop-up tea shop and fall in love with your very own blend. Meet our artist in residence and help him decide on a theme for a painting. Support our charitable stalls and become part of Hackney’s unbeatable community.

Who’s Who

Through the weeks, we’re bringing you some of the best food producers the UK has to offer. As well as introducing Hackney to their delectable edible goodies, we showcase hyperlocal artisans who’ve been hiding under our noses all the time.

One of the parts of the market we’re most excited about is our Pop-up Teashop, brought about by the lovely people at Haggerston Tearooms. It’s more than just a place to get a cuppa, it’s a place to sit, chat, meet friends and to tuck into food from elsewhere at the market. Oh, and there might just be a resident artist doing something crazy with vegetables…

Our street food is something we’re also pretty proud of. We’ll have fusion wraps which merge Indian and Mexican cultures; sausages and burgers made by people who can tell you the names of the animals who’ve made them possible; hearty Japanese curries; rotisserie chicken and homemade salt beef.

We shouldn’t forget our stalwarts of brilliant veg, bread, cheese, chutneys, cakes and cured meat, either. Here’s a full list of who’s who. They’re looking forward to meeting you soon…
