A bit about the space…
The market takes place in the churchyard of the impressive, Grade II listed St John’s Church Lower Clapton Road, E5 0PD, opposite Marks and Spencer. The bucolic gardens back onto the busy shopping street of Mare Street right in the heart of Hackney, and are visited by three quarters of a million people every year.

The Practicalities
No trader’s licence is necessary, although anyone selling food needs to have a food hygiene certificate and relevant HACCP. Talk to your local council for help with this if required. Details from Hackney Council can be found here, although it can be done through any council.

All stallholders are responsible for their own public liability and the removal of all rubbish.

Please arrive by 10am in order to start trading at 11am. Please arrive earlier if you know you will need longer for setup.

Stallholders need to bring their own marquee/gazebo and table. If you are a first time trader or a charity who does not have their own set up, please let us know and we will do our best to help.

Free parking for traders is available behind the church on a first come first served basis. Additional paid parking is available within the church grounds and the surrounding streets. The vehicle entrance to the church is on Lower Clapton Road, London, E5 0PD.

At present, we do not have power points available. Please make your own arrangements (gas, generator etc.) as required.

Finally, please do build your brand through Facebook and Twitter, and generate a buzz about what you’re selling – it really does pay off. We are promoting the market ourselves, but the best people to spread the word are the stallholders.

The Costs
We price our one-off stalls from as little as £20 (aiming to encourage small businesses and new traders) and offer a 25% discount for those prepared to commit to a series of dates.

If you show up on the day without paying online, it is £30 (payable during setup). This covers our extra admin, and encourages you to take advantage of the extra promo we can offer advance bookings.
